Main Job Functions:
Provide front desk support and assistance in the New Discovery building by welcoming and assisting students, community members, staff and faculty. Answering questions and connecting them with the appropriate campus resources. Assist with mail and package tracking for our residential students, answer phone calls, return messages, manage walk-in traffic and provide administrative support to staff and faculty while helping maintain a positive and professional environment
Working Conditions:
This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability to reason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally. Work is performed using a computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally. Minimum Qualifications:
Must be eligible for and awarded Federal Work-Study funding. Have strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with students, faculty, staff and visitors. Basic computer skills, search for and locate information using online resources and campus systems. Able to answer phones,manage multiple tasks, and maintain attention to details. Ability to handle confidential information appropriately, dependable and punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
