Days of the week: Monday - Thursday/flexible

Main Job Functions:

Provide assistance at the front desk in the New Discovery Building, engaging in conversations with students and pointing them to the correct resources; assist with package logging and check-out process answering phones working with foot traffic, supporting staff and faculty.

Job Duties:

Logging incoming packages, organizing mail room, and checking packages out to students; assisting students with general questions and providing resources if needed; Support for CMC students, visitors, and CMC staff with projects, creating community by engaging in conversation with residents; keeping the front desk area clean and organized; hanging up weekly program and event flyers maintain bulletin boards and other duties as assigned while creating a professional, helpful, and friendly environment, and adhering to professional standards. Maintains and helps with front desk duties at the Learning Services Desk, including but not limited to answering and making phone calls, supporting staff, and faculty.

Working Conditions:

This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability to reason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally. Work is performed using a computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally. Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate needs to demonstrate positive, personable, punctual, and polite, qualities that are essential to creating a welcoming environment at the Learning Services Desk. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; must be willing to engage in conversation with all residents; good organizational and time management skills – able to work on multiple projects.
