Main Job Functions:
The Library Aide is a vital part of the front-facing customer service CMC Leadville Learning Commons team. This role performs general clerical duties and interacts with our library patrons to help them access physical and digital resources.
Job Duties:
This position will assist library patrons in using library resources including (but not limited to): computers, copiers, scanners, digital databases, physical books and other recreation items. General duties include assisting users in library procedures, providing basic reference services, staffing the Circulation Desk and various other duties as assigned by supervisor on duty. Specific clerical duties may include checking in/out library items, LMP book distribution and returns.
Working Conditions:
This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability to reason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally. Work is performed using a computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally. Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to read, write and communicate in English language; ability to use technology including computer and printer. Applicants must be committed to working with patrons having diverse backgrounds. Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities highly encouraged.
