Main Job Functions:
The Medical Assisting Work-Study Student serves as a valuable member of the Medical Assisting Program team by helping prepare skills labs, organize supplies and equipment, support faculty and students, assist with program events and outreach activities, and keep the classroom and laboratory running smoothly. This position offers hands-on experience in healthcare education while developing leadership, communication, organization, and professional skills. Students are expected to maintain a positive attitude, demonstrate professionalism, and contribute to creating an engaging and welcoming learning environment for all.
Working Conditions:
This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability to reason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally. Work is performed using a computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally. Minimum Qualifications:
Must be eligible for Work-Study funding and currently enrolled at Colorado Mountain College. Preference will be given to students enrolled in or who have successfully completed coursework within the Medical Assisting Program. Applicants must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality. Basic computer skills, including email and Microsoft Office applications, are required. The ability to follow directions, maintain a positive attitude, and represent the Medical Assisting Program in a professional manner is essential.
