Main Job Functions:
Assist in Gear Room operations, field course preparation, equipment maintenance, and student check-out process; this position will be hands-on in maintaining, distributing and receiving all gear that enters the field; maintains the organization and cleanliness of the Gear Room, while being available for rentals.
Job Duties:
Checking and receiving gear for course specific trips; repairing and maintaining gear; organization of gear storage systems; cleaning solid gear; assisting in inventory counts and updating records; processing gear in a timely manner to redistribute; holds hours for student gear check-in/check-out.
Working Conditions:
This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability to reason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally. Work is performed using a computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally. Minimum Qualifications:
General knowledge of course structure, gear function, and baseline cleanliness; previous use of Excel or Google Sheets; proficiency with email, written and oral communication; ability to assume a high level of responsibility for managing one’s own work; follow detailed directions and processes.
