Main Job Functions:
Support the facilitation and monitoring of the Climax building, including the climbing wall, workout room, gear checkout room, and the surrounding area. Responsible for enforcing all climbing wall and campus policies and procedures, organizing and checking out equipment, maintaining equipment inspections, teaching/demonstrating belay/bouldering techniques. Assist with preparation and close out of OUT classes including preparing gear and maintenance. Assist with OUT and gear room projects including creating promotional materials.
Job Duties:
Repairs and maintains equipment. Cleans and organizes the gear room and climbing gym. Monitors climbing wall safety and demonstrates climbing techniques. Rent equipment to students. Manages inventory and prepares equipment for classes, including deissue and storage. Assists with projects to build content, paperwork, and support events for OUT classes and ORL/OE promotion.
Working Conditions:
This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability to reason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally. Work is performed using a computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally.
