2023 CMC Full-time Staff of the Year, Rifle
Hello and welcome to CMC, Rifle. I am grateful to serve students, colleagues, and community members as an Academic Advisor II and Access Coordinator at Colorado Mountain College. Working in education for over 23 years has afforded me opportunities to serve students in a multitude of capacities, make valuable relationships and help to make the unforeseeable, foreseeable. I look forward to and enjoy advising students who may need extra support through Access Services and coordinating immediate plans so students may achieve their academic goals and career path.
I consider myself to be a lifelong learner and devoted to higher education. I have a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology/PT and am currently working on my Masters in Student Affairs Higher Education. Professional development and growth are key to our most valuable benefactors: our students.
I grew up in Littleton and am a native of Colorado! I love the Western Slope, changing of the seasons, the beautiful landscape, and the spirit of the people. I enjoy all things outdoors, especially camping, hiking, gardening, and rafting. I cherish time with my family, friends, fur babies, barbecuing, baking, being creative, and celebrating holiday festivities.
My personal philosophy is that every person is unique, which makes this world so great and there is no such thing as failure, only progression. Besides, what other profession gets to meet so many great people in their lifetime in which every day presents an opportunity to be that difference someone really needs? Make time to let those around you know what they mean and make a difference whenever possible!
I have been married to my husband, Brett, for 24 years and we have two amazing daughters.
I love to watch and play sports of all types. I currently coach volleyball for Grand Valley High School. I feel called to give back to the youth of my community, and my interests and volunteering surround the youth of the Valley.
