New Student Orientation at CMC Rifle

Attend Student Orientation and Registration (SOAR), where you will learn about campus resources, how to succeed in college, and get to know your Rifle campus.

Everyone is invited, but all President & Clough Scholars are required to attend orientation.

New Student Orientation & Registration

Students must attend one Orientation & Registration AND College 101 session.

At these sessions you will register for classes and learn everything there is to know about attending college.

If you are at least 25, waited at least one year after high school before entering college, or have a GED, then you are identified as a non-traditional student, which is great! In this orientation, you will learn everything there is to know about coming to college as an adult.

Parents Orientation

Learn what a parent needs to know about college, how to pay for it, and how to help students be successful. Staff will be available to answer any questions you may have. Strong emphasis on first-generation families.

Test Scores, Placement Testing

Students - Bring your ACT, SAT, AP, IB and/or Accuplacer test scores. We use placement test scores to determine if you are ready for college-level classes or need to first prepare with CMC’s great transitional education courses and support.

If you do not have test scores, you must take the Accuplacer before orientation. Call our Rifle, 970-625-6900, front desk to find out how to take the Accuplacer.

Minimum Scores

These are minimum scores, below which transitional education courses are required:

Test English Math

SAT 470 500
