Apply Now for Scholarships at Colorado Mountain College

The application for CMC Foundation Scholarships opens December 1.

The Colorado Mountain College Foundation offers a variety of scholarships to qualified students.

To apply for scholarships at Colorado Mountain College, log into CMC Basecamp and click on the blue “Foundation Scholarships” button in the middle of the page under “Additional Student Resources.”

In the application there will be some general questions and 4 shorts essays that are a maximum of 250 words. Please be sure to complete the FAFSA or CASFA as well.

The following documents are required for upload to your application.

1. Transcript (if you have attended school in the past 5 years)
2. Letter of recommendation (will be uploaded by reference provider)

You will be able to access and exit the application as necessary.

Once the application is submitted, applicants are automatically matched to qualifying scholarships.

Transcripts

Transcript information must be uploaded to the scholarship application as a PDF or Microsoft Word document.

• If you are currently in high school or graduated from high school in the last five years, upload a copy of your most recent high school transcript. If you graduated more than five years ago, no transcript is required.
• If you transferred to Colorado Mountain College from another college or university, please upload your academic transcript from that institution.
• If you completed a GED or received a high school diploma through an alternative program, please upload proof of completion along with your scholarship application.
• Current CMC students should upload a PDF or Word document of either a CMC transcript which can be found in CMC Basecamp. Click on STUDENT SELF-SERVICE and then STUDENT PLANNING  and then graduation cap at the left hand side of the page. Be sure your name is included on all uploaded documents.

Reference Providers

The application requests the name and e-mail address for one reference provider. It is imperative that you contact the provider to advise them of your request. The request will be dispatched via e-mail upon entry of the provider's information. References providers should be a faculty member, counselor, community member or employer (NOT a family member or friend).

It is recommended that you review your application weekly to confirm that the reference letter has been received. You can review reference provider information under the Reference section of the application. You have the opportunity to resend a request or replace an existing reference request as necessary.

Evidence of Financial Need

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Colorado Application for State Financial Aid (CASFA) are required for the scholarship awards that are based on financial need. CMC highly recommends that all students complete the FAFSA or CASFA.

Deadline Dates

Application for scholarships open December 1. All required documents and information are due on your application by March 1 (or as specified in the scholarship criteria).

Full and Part-time Attendance

Full-time attendance is based on 12 credit hours or more per semester, and lower level of attendance will be considered part-time for purpose of scholarship criteria.

Thank You Letters

Scholarship recipients must thank the donors who have made the scholarship(s) possible. A "Post Acceptance" reminder will appear upon acceptance of a scholarship. Scholarship funds will not be disbursed until recipient thank you letters are submitted in the scholarship application. These letters are an integral part of the scholarship program and will be provided to the donors. You should include the following points in your thank you note:

• Express your appreciation for the award.
• Explain how the scholarship will assist you.
• Share your educational and career goals.
