Outside Scholarships

Total financial aid eligibility may be considered up to the student’s cost of attendance. Assistance that exceeds a student’s Cost of Attendance and at times need, may require adjustments to the student’s financial aid award package. In such instances, loans and work study will be reduced first then any other scholarship or grant for student’s overall financial aid package to remain within the cost of attendance limitation.

Outside scholarship checks received during fall term will be split equally between the fall and spring semesters. Outside scholarship checks received during spring will have the entire amount applied to the spring term. These processes apply, unless otherwise indicated in writing by the donor.

Outside scholarship funds will be credited to the CMC student account upon receipt, as long as the student is enrolled in at least 1 credit hour. CMC will not review Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) or student’s degree seeking status unless a specified letter of eligibility criteria from the donor accompanies the check. The scholarship check will be returned to the donor if student is not enrolled.

In order for CMC to disclose any information that a third party may request, a signed Consent to Release Specific Confidential Information must be provided to the CMC financial aid office. If interested, this form may be requested by e-mailing finaid.coloradomtn.edu
