Colorado Mountain College Rifle

Education, innovation, and opportunity in beautiful rural western Colorado

Located in western Garfield County, the CMC Rifle campus offers dynamic education options and a welcoming space where academic achievement, personal growth, and career advancement can be realized at any age.

During our Family Fridays program, children, parents and grandparents learn simultaneously through bilingual, non-credit opportunities including family literacy, GED preparation, youth art and STEM, healthy cooking classes, and Intercambio language exchange. Our campus also hosts a preschool and educates future teachers.

High school students access college via concurrent enrollment programming and earn arts and science credits that can be applied to a CMC credential or transferred to other institutions. Training options also include skilled trades, allied health, emergency services, and education, with many students earning college and industry certificates even before graduating from high school.

The full array of Rifle campus academic programs include associate degrees in arts and sciences; allied health degrees certificates in Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), pharmacy technician, phlebotomy, medical assisting, and pre-nursing; business programs with minors in accounting, data analytics, finance, management and marketing; education pathways of early childhood, elementary education, and specialized endorsements; information technology; human services; pre-engineering; public safety programs, including Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and wildland fire; and credentials in automotive, welding, carpentry and construction.

The campus serves a 40-mile area encompassing four towns, and we proudly embrace our role in building, supporting, and enhancing our Colorado River Valley communities. Aligned with CMC’s Mountain Futures strategic plan, the Rifle campus advances the college’s vision to elevate the vitality of our region through inclusive, relevant, and forward-thinking education. By embodying equity, care, innovation, and integrity, we are honored not only to prepare students for success, but to shape the future.
