How Do I Get Started?
NEW STUDENT: I have never attended college before
- Apply Online - it's free!
- Once you complete your application ask your high school to send your official high school transcripts to the CMC Admissions Office. Transcripts issued to the student, hand-carried, or faxed cannot be accepted.
Only students who have graduated high school within the last five years are required to submit a high school transcript. - Submit ACT/SAT scores or schedule an appointment to take the Accuplacer Placement Test. This is only for class placement purposes and not to determine acceptance.
- Contact your campus to determine that you are registration ready and seek advising. If you are attending Spring Valley-Glenwood Springs or Steamboat Springs you will receive advising and register for classes only at New Student Orientation.
- Arrange financing to pay for classes

RETURNING CMC STUDENT: I have not taken classes in over a year from CMC
If you have been away for a year (3 or more semesters), you will need to be re-admitted to Colorado Mountain College, as required by State Law.
- Reapply Online - it's free!
- Once you have been re-admitted you can Register for Classes online through Basecamp using your original Username and Password. If you can’t remember your Basecamp username and/or password please contact the Service Desk.
- Schedule an advising appointment with a College Counselor
TRANSFER STUDENT: I am transferring from another college/university to CMC
- Apply Online - it's free!
- Once you complete your application see Transfer to CMC for more information about transferring credits to CMC.
- Submit ACT/SAT scores to the Registrar's Office and schedule an appointment to take the Accuplacer Placement Test if required.

I am under 17 years old, and am at least at a 9th grade level in my education.
- Apply Online – it’s free!
- All underage students must meet with a College Counselor. Call the appropriate campus to schedule an appointment.
- Prior to your appointment, please prepare the following items to bring with you to the meeting:

- Your high school transcript or standardized test scores demonstrating that you are at a ninth grade level or higher in your education.
- Your completed Underage Admissions form. This must be completed for every semester while you are attending as an underage student.
VETERANS & MILITARY

Credit Classes
To take a credit class you will need to apply to attend CMC. Apply Online! - it's free!
Once you have been admitted, you will receive an email with your student account and can register for classes through Basecamp or you can fill out the CMC Registration Form and take it to any CMC Campus.
