Colorado Mountain College Spring Valley at Glenwood Springs

Minutes from Glenwood Springs, this residential campus is a spectacular setting for living and learning

Spring Valley was once ranch land worthy of any cinematic western movie. Now it's a place of learning, exploration and transformation.

Join a campus of 1500. Some are pursuing their passion of photography and design, veterinary medicine, nursing or outdoor education. Others are building a strong foundation taught by attentive faculty and will be well prepared for their next steps.

Don't be fooled by affordable, low tuition — academics are rigorous, teachers are caring and facilities are technologically savvy. And Spring Valley may be the most beautiful place you'll ever live.

Outside you'll find:

The James C. and Connie L. Calaway Academic Building houses most of the campus' classrooms and labs. The Calaway Building is also home to the New Space Theater and the Theatre degree program, hosting theater and music performances through the year.

From the X-games and concerts in Aspen to surfing (yes, surfing) at the Colorado River water park in Glenwood Springs, the Roaring Fork Valley is a vibrant and diverse mountain community.

Read about Glenwood Springs in Outside Magazine’s #5 of The 16 Best Places to Live in America: 2015. Or Carbondale in  Carbondale #7 of Men’s Journal: 10 Best Places to Live/2015.

CMC Spring Valley's Green Team

Students, staff, and faculty on the Spring Valley campus are working hard to advance sustainability. Notable actions include:

  • Roaring Fork Students for Sustainability club
  • Student-led waste diversion plan that composts, recycles, and removes hazards
  • Ground-source heat pump that supplies the residence hall
  • Baseline biodiversity assessment of surrounding ecosystems to aid xeriscaping
  • Free shuttle running between campuses to reduce vehicular pollution
  • Beginning the Real Food Challenge, a national benchmark for sustainable cafeterias
  • Demonstration for implementing our Sustainability Action Plan

We are proud of all of our achievements and committed to advancing the Sustainability Action Plan through sustainable efforts for our campus and community.
