Colorado Mountain College - Breckenridge 107 Denison Placer Road, Breckenridge, CO, United StatesWhile traveling in Europe in 1991 to create portraits of his own relatives in Belgium, France and Italy, he took a detour to visit Dachau, the Nazi death camp he had studied as a student. Though not Jewish, Nick Del Calzo was compelled to document the accounts of Jews who had survived that and other killing camps. He has photographed more than 150 Holocaust survivors. Many of Del Calzo’s inspiring photographs, with stories, are on display at CMC in Breckenridge throughout the fall semester.

Mezzo-soprano Emily D’Angelo, one of opera’s most compelling young stars, portrays Jess, a hotshot fighter pilot whose unplanned pregnancy takes her out of the cockpit and lands her in Las Vegas, operating a Reaper drone halfway around the world. New York Magazine recently hailed D’Angelo as “an operatic Maserati” following her performance as Jess.
