Roaring Fork Leadership, CMC present ‘Elevate: A Women’s Forum’
Oct. 25, 2022 - Roaring Fork Leadership and Colorado Mountain College Glenwood Springs will present “Elevate: A Forum for Women Creating Impact,” at Morgridge Commons in Glenwood Springs on the afternoon of Nov. 11.
CMC and Roaring Fork Leadership partnered together to present their first women’s forum in 2019 to inspire and connect women in the Roaring Fork Valley region by bringing speakers together to talk about aspects of leadership, equality and respect.
This year, four speakers will continue the discussion. From Colorado Mountain College, Dr. Lea Ann “Beez” Schell and Yesenia Silva-Estrada will discuss “Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging: Moving the Me to We;” Susan Harig of the Aspen Skiing Company’s topic will focus on “Employee Engagement;” and Outward Bound legend and communication expert Gruffie Clough will speak about “Compelling Ways to Work with Other People.”
Schell is the dean of academic support at CMC. She works to promote diversity, equity and inclusion in student learning, within the campus climate and in faculty development. CMC’s student population is over 28% Latina/Latino, which qualifies the college as a federally designated Hispanic Serving Institution, while it is also composed of primarily white students.
Silva-Estrada moved to western Colorado with her family from Chihuahua, Mexico when she was 6, and is the first in her family to attend and graduate from college. At CMC, she is the executive director of strategic initiatives working to improve equity outcomes among students and the college.
Harig is the managing director of engagement and development at the Aspen Skiing Company. As a human resource manager, Harig’s specialties include employment, recruiting, performance consulting and facilitation.
Clough of Gruffie Clough and Associates is a leadership and organizational consultant. She’s led expeditions with Colorado Outward Bound and, with companies such as WarnerMedia, designed and delivered leadership programs through skill building trainings and facilitating challenging discussions.
“Elevate: A Forum for Women Creating Impact” will take place from 1-6 p.m. at Morgridge Commons, 815 Cooper Ave., 2nd floor, Glenwood Springs. Admission is $79 and tickets are available by searching "Elevate" at CMC Community Education.
In addition to Roaring Fork Leadership and Colorado Mountain College, “Elevate” is sponsored by Project Resource Studio, Carbondale Chamber and Tourism, and Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association.
