During my senior year in high school, I was not sure if I would be able to attend Colorado State University. They offered what I wanted to pursue so I have always wanted to attend there, but my family did not have the financial means to pay for the tuition. The Clough Fellows program has helped ease my family’s and my stress over this matter. When I decided to study abroad for a semester, this program helped me greatly with the costs. “The past few years have gone by quicker than I ever imagined they would, and I have grown so much as a person. The opportunities I have gotten from nursing school at CMU have been amazing. I have made friends that will last a lifetime, and I am so close to finishing a goal I have had for my whole life. It’s crazy to think that in just one semester, I will have my degree.
Over the break, I completed my senior capstone where I did 12-hour shifts at the Family Birthplace in Glenwood Springs. I absolutely loved every second of it and I learned so much. I got to be a part of labor and postpartum care and I got to take care of some premature babies in the NICU. It was a glimpse into what my future could be. I am looking at applying for jobs at a children’s hospital and I am also applying to Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs.
The Clough Fellowship gave me the ability to achieve my dreams and I couldn’t thank you enough for that. I wouldn’t be where I am today without this scholarship.
