LIFE AFTER CLOUGH
Emily is a student teacher at Chipeta Elementary in Grand Junction.
“The Clough Fellows program has significantly influenced my life in a positive manner. With the invaluable support extended by the Clough Fellows, I successfully realized my aspirations of earning a degree in Early Childhood Special Education from Colorado Mesa University, ultimately fulfilling my dream of becoming a teacher. Genevieve Clough's vision in establishing this scholarship, with the intent of providing students "the chance to succeed," resonates deeply with my experience.
Coming from Garfield Re2, a small town with inherent resource limitations, the Clough Fellowship has emerged as a beacon of opportunity. The program prioritizes ensuring that every individual is heard and afforded a fair chance, particularly crucial for students in communities like mine. I credit the realization of my academic and professional ambitions to the unwavering support of the Clough Fellows. Without their assistance, my journey toward graduation and my career as a teacher would not have materialized, and for this, I am eternally grateful.”
