“The Clough Fellows program has impacted my life because as a first-generation student, college is an obstacle in the direction I should take. The support of the Clough Fellows program has changed my perspective on life, instead of just pursuing my education, I want to dedicate time to my community. When I attended the Clough Fellows Ice Cream Social in May, the stories of past recipients impacted my perspective moving forward.
Hearing about other recipients' experiences led me to continue pursuing my interests, but to also dedicate time to being a role model for younger generations. Just like Genevieve Clough and the current Clough Fellows program have dedicated their effort to giving us a chance to succeed, I am motivated to pursue my degree as a Dental Hygienist to dedicate my effort to providing for my community. College has not been easy, but with continued support, I am going to pursue my degree no matter how hard it gets. Thank you to the Clough Fellows program for your generosity and the impact you have made on my life.”

“The Clough Fellows program has allowed me to attend Texas State University and live the college experience I’ve hoped to have my entire life. Having the Clough funding enabled me to leverage another large scholarship which I had applied for. I was not awarded initially but I appealed the decision. The total amount of aid including scholarships from the university all added up to nearly my cost of attendance and so I was awarded the additional scholarship!
