Industry Certificates
Learn more about receiving credit for existing industry certifications
Students may have earned industry certificates from another institution or organization. CMC has a pre-approved list of industry certificates for which we award credit:
The process for having industry certificates reviewed is initiated by the Counselor/Advisor. The student needs to provide the official transcript/certificate to their Counselor/Advisor which is then attached to the CTE Industry Certificate DocuSign Form.
Once reviewed and approved, the Dean indicates the CMC equivalent courses to be awarded. The form is routed to the Registrar's Office to post credit for the courses on the student's record. If denied no courses will be awarded.
If a student has an industry cert. that is not on the approved list, it can still be submitted with the CTE Industry Certificate DocuSign form for the Dean to review. The Dean may approve it and award equivalent courses, in which case the certificate will be added to the pre-approved list. Alternatively, the Dean may recommend that the student needs to go through the Portfolio process to earn credit for prior learning.
There is no charge for having industry certificates reviewed.
