At just 10 years old Katya took her first CMC non-credit course and had already completed 15 credits through concurrent enrollment (Coal Ridge High School) before starting her Early Childhood Education degree at CMC as a first-generation student. After graduating with her Associate degree, she then moved to Fort Collins and attended Colorado State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies.
She is back in the Valley and at CMC as an Enrollment Services Specialist.
Katya is fueled by her passion for education and her commitment to empowering the Hispanic community. As a proud first-generation Hispanic student herself, she understands the challenges and anxieties that often accompany the pursuit of higher education. She is excited to create a welcoming and inclusive environment and connect with individuals who may have questions or concerns about CMC.
When Katya is not at work you can find her traveling, hanging out with friends and family, and growing her rock collection.
Con tan solo 10 años Katya tomó su primer curso sin-crédito por CMC y cuando se graduó de Coal Ridge High School ya tenía 15 créditos para empezar su título de asociados en Educación infantil temprana como estudiante de primera generación. Después de graduarse de CMC se mudó a Fort Collins donde atendió la Universidad Estatal de Colorado y obtuvo su licenciatura de Ciencias en Desarrollo Humano y Estudios Familiares.
Ella está de vuelta en el Valle y en CMC como Especialista en Servicios de Inscripción.
Katya se impulsa por su pasión por la educación y su compromiso con empoderar a la comunidad hispana. Como orgullosa estudiante hispana de primera generación, comprende los desafíos y las ansiedades que acompañan la búsqueda de la educación. Está emocionada de crear un ambiente acogedor e inclusivo y conectarse con personas que puedan tener preguntas o inquietudes sobre CMC.
Cuando Katya no está trabajando la puedes encontrar viajando, saliendo con amigos y familiares, y haciendo crecer su colección de piedras.
