Student Orientation and Registration in Steamboat Springs

Revised July 12, 2021

Now that you have made the decision to attend the Steamboat Springs campus, it is time to take the next step and attend Virtual Registration and Orientation. During these events you will learn about academic programs and campus life, meet with an advisor, and register for classes. All incoming students are required to attend a Virtual Registration event, as well as the mandatory orientation. Come to these events ready to work and have fun.

It is crucial to your success that you are placed in the classes that are right for you. We focus on academics by assessing your current English, math, reading and writing. Any student who has not placed into college level English, math and reading with ACT or SAT scores or is not transferring-in college course work in English and math, must take the Accuplacer computerized placement assessment. The Accuplacer test will need to be completed prior to Virtual Registration. You will receive more information about this after you register.

Fall 2021 Events

All incoming students for the 2021 Fall semester must attend one of the following Virtual Registration sessions:

  • August 17-18 Virtual Registration

This Virtual Registration session is for students who have been accepted into all degree programs.

Students will attend a virtual registration session via Zoom on August 17 or 18. Each student will have an individually assigned time that they will log in and meet with an academic advisor. Times will be emailed to students about a week before the event.

All students will also be required to attend the mandatory Orientation session on August 19. We are hopeful this August Orientation will be offered in-person and will be for students only.

Due to the safety of our campus community, we will not be able to invite guests to our in-person orientation.  We will be hosting a separate Orientation session virtually for parents the week of August 9. Information will be emailed to parents separately regarding this event.

Registering for Virtual Registration automatically registers you for August Orientation. More information will be emailed as we approach the event. Please note that there is a fee associated with Orientation, which will be charged to your student account.
