Ski and Snowboard Business Graduates
“My career ambitions were solely within the outdoor industry. With the chance to combine my personal and professional values, I knew the program and CMC were the right choices for me. While the location in Steamboat Springs, CO was a perk, the program professors helped my career path the most.”
Colleen Coleman, Merchandising Strategy Manager, REI
“I have never heard of another school that lets you tune skis or boards for class, much less create a ski or snowboard with your own graphics on it. The location of Colorado Mountain College’s campus, my program leader, as well as the students I attended with, made my experience at CMC worthwhile.”
Eric Hockman is an assistant manager for a ski and snowboard tuning shop in Keystone, Colorado.
“Skiing is my favorite thing to do and being able to make a career in the industry is a dream come true. Colorado Mountain College was a driving force in making my dream of shop ownership a reality. The program gave me the confidence to make a career in the ski industry. The best asset the program gave me was how to analyze the whole picture.”
Ian Downing opened his own shop, SlopeStyle Ski and Ride, in Montpelier, VT. He recently worked to develop an internet-based version of his shop, giving the company a nationwide reach to help the store stay financially viable, even in low snow seasons.
“Colorado Mountain College gave me a good start in the right direction, and helped me to build a good base. The faculty would take your passions and teach you in the way that applied to you personally.”
